Making its debut in 1965, the original Gatorland Iron Horse gave visitors a glimpse of the south end of the park as it carried passengers over alligators and by the animal displays on its journey back to the station. After 35 years of loyal service carrying millions of passengers, the old Iron Horse was finally retired in 2000 and a new station was built.Making its inaugural run on July 1, 2001, the new Gatorland Express departed from its brand new train station carrying passengers around the Jungle Crocs and Breeding Marsh/Bird Rookery areas. The train makes a stop at the very South end of the park close to Pearl's Smokehouse and the Alligator Wrestling Stadium. Visitors can still see the old original Gator land Iron Horse on display just outside the new train station. Also located at the Gator land Train Station is Jorge's Fun Face Painting for both kids and adults.
From swirling glitter designs to Spiderman faces, kids of all ages will enjoy this fun and creative experience.
Cracker Style Gator Wrestling
Gator land® offers a unique alligator wrestling show done "Florida Cracker" style in a shaded 800 seat stadium. Gator wranglers catch a 6 to 8 foot alligator by hand and climb onto the snapping animal's back to point out survival features to the audience. After doing stunts that only a few are brave (or foolish) enough to try, the alligator is rolled over and put to sleep...only to be awakened by a tickle!
About The Park
For over half a century, Gatorland has been creating fond vacation memories for millions of visitors who have entered through its gaping gator mouth entrance. Families, friends and employees alike have ventured through the glass double doors on their way to a journey through this natural, low-tech adventure. Located between Orlando and Kissimmee on the South Orange Blossom Trail, Gatorland is one of Central Florida's oldest attractions, and provides a unique and natural alternative to the larger theme parks of today.
Founded by the late Owen Godwin in 1949, and still privately owned by his family today, Gatorland is a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve, combining "Old Florida" charm with exciting, new exhibits and entertainment. Known internationally as the "Alligator Capital of the World," Gatorland today provides affordably priced family-fun with thousands of alligators and crocodiles, a breeding marsh with boardwalk and observation tower, one-of-a-kind reptilian shows, aviary, petting zoo, swamp walk, educational programs and much, much more.
Gator Gully Splash Park
It’s ready, set, splash as the “Alligator Capital of the World’ announces the spring 2007 opening of Gator Gully Splash Park featuring unusual water sources crafted to resemble some of the parks most popular residents while maintaining the cracker humor visible throughout the 58-year ol’ theme park.
Located near the world famous Gator Jumparoo Show area, Gator Gully Splash Park was designed for those hot and humid afternoons in Florida when you just can’t seem to cool off. Over a quarter- acre and ready to soak, Gator Gully Splash Park includes a row of giant egrets spilling water from their beaks; dueling water guns mounted on the backs of two giant gators lined up and waiting for a friendly squirtfest with your neighbor; an ol’ jalopy overrun with water and places to splash; a bucket tree that is just perfect for a slow dash and spray for the little ones; and Grandma’s Wet Shack, a veritable fountain of water-based fun for kids of all ages to splash, squirt and play in truckloads of cool H2O.
Also incorporated in the new attraction are additional animal exhibits, changing stations, dry shade pavilions and a retail outlet featuring a whole mess of new characters and critters known as the Gator Gully Gang.
Drop by Allie's Barnyard and say hello to some of the cute and cuddly barnyard critters that call Gatorland home. Say hello to Gracie, a friendly goat who just loves to eat from your hand, and Harley the Macaw who just might say hello back!

Gatorland has been entertaining people with fun, exciting and educational shows about dangerous and unusual animals for years!
