Featured Exhibits

The power of The Holy Land Experience comes through its one-of-a-kind featured exhibits. They provide firsthand, experiential learning environments that captivate through sight, sound, and touch.

The Scriptorium: Center for Biblical Antiquities

The Wilderness Tabernacle

Jerusalem Model A.D. 66

One Night With The King

The Scriptorium: Center for Biblical Antiquities

This museum is a non-sectarian library/research center that houses the priceless Van Kampen Collection consisting of several thousand manuscripts, scrolls, and other religious artifacts. The collection is augmented by secondary resources, including the personal library of Eberhard Nestle, leading 19th century biblical scholar and co-translator of the Greek Nestle/Aland New Testament text.

The walk-through experience of The Scriptorium transports visitors to historical and geographical areas of the world where displayed biblical documents originated and gives guests a dramatic understanding of the history of the Bible, how it parallels the history of civilization, and the impact it has had upon the world.

Additionally, items not featured on the regular tour are on display in our rotating exhibit space, located off The Scriptorium bookstore Ex Libris.

Now On Display: A day in the life of a Monk

Journey to a monastery and experience the life and activities of medieval monks whom God used to keep His Word alive through the annals of time.

See how these devoted servants of God committed themselves to the daily disciplines of work, prayer, reading, and meditation. The exhibit features hand-copied Bibles and manuscripts from the dark ages. A video commentary follows the musings of a young monk as he contemplates monastic life. Make a rubbing to take home from a page printed in 1473. And pull the rope of the monastery bell to sound time for morning prayers.

Experience A Day in the Life of a Monk at The Holy Land Experience!

The Wilderness Tabernacle

A recreation of the mobile temple that provided a place for God to dwell among the Israelites during their forty years of wandering in the desert. The presentation offers visitors an understanding about the importance of the rituals and sacrifices offered to God in this sacred place. Learn about the altar of sacrifice, the objects inside the Tabernacle, and the Ark of the Covenant.

The Wilderness Tabernacle was designed to move the Israelites closer to God, while also providing a shadow of future glory – the coming of Christ.

Jerusalem Model A.D. 66

The world's largest indoor model of its kind, this 45 by 25 foot-long structure gives a stunning overview of what Jerusalem looked like at the height of its size and growth. Daily presentations tell the history of the city, from it's beginnings as King David's capital city to its destruction by the Romans in A.D. 70.

The Jerusalem Model A.D. 66 allows guests to see where Christ walked as He ministered inside the city, and where He traveled during His final hours leading up to His crucifixion on Calvary.

One Night With the King

An epic motion picture set in an imaginative world of adventure, intrigue and romance, One Night With the King follows a young girl who rises from peasant to princess by going against the culture and seeking the King's heart rather than the riches of the kingdom.
