Bringing the thrills of Central Florida attractions to new heights, Fantasy World Resort in
Kissimmee will open Fantasy Surf in the fall of 2010. It will be the first truly interactive water
sport activity where participants of all ages can catch the ultimate indoor wave. The rush and
techniques developed from this water experience have even spawned a new competitive sport –
Flowriding! The $4 million venue will offer an environment where spectators will enjoy watching
as much as participators enjoy riding.
Catching a wave in landlocked Kissimmee seems like only a dream.
Tourists and Central Florida locals can experience the rush of sliding,
riding and surfing waves when Fantasy Surf at FantasyWorld Resort
Fantasy Surf features the patented FlowRider™ system that has
the look of surfing and wakeboarding, ride of snowboarding,
and tricks of skateboarding in a safe and controlled environment.
The thrills and techniques developed from this water experience have even
spawned a new competitive sport – Flowriding! Fantasy Surf features a FlowRider™ Double system which is 32 feet wide, 49 feet long and can accommodate 25-30 riders per hour. The padded walls, floor and beach is covered by a three-inch sheet of water that creates a surfable wave.
This ride, with its cushioned surface, was designed for wipeouts.
“Riders will experience an adrenaline rush like no other theme park or thrill-based attraction,”
said Chuck Richardson, director of hospitality and marketing. “Fantasy Surf riders will want to
come back again and again as they increasingly develop their skill while cooling off in a secure,
indoor environment. Plus spectators will enjoy watching as much as participants enjoy riding.”
In addition to the indoor wave experience, visitors also can enjoy lite dining and a surf shop.
Fantasy Surf will accommodate large groups and parties and unique, memorable custom
events.
